Matthew 11:28 is a beautiful invitation from Jesus to people who are tired, burdened, and struggling under the weight of life. He does not tell us to solve everything first or become strong enough before coming to Him. Instead, He simply says, “Come unto me.” Jesus invites us to bring our burdens directly to Him.
The words “labour and are heavy laden” can describe the many things that leave us exhausted—worry about tomorrow, pressure from responsibilities, disappointment, fear, guilt, difficult relationships, or the feeling that we must carry everything alone. Jesus knows how deeply these burdens can affect the heart.
When Christ promises, “I will give you rest,” He offers more than physical relief. He gives the kind of rest that reaches the heart and reminds us that we do not have to face life without Him. His presence gives us strength when our own strength feels small.
Today, practice this verse by intentionally bringing your worries to Jesus in prayer. Tell Him honestly what is weighing on your heart. Instead of carrying every burden alone, place it before Him and trust His care. You may not see every problem disappear immediately, but you can walk through it knowing that Jesus is with you.
